In Zen Buddhism, a student once asked his teacher, "Master, what is enlightenment?" The master replied, "if you’re hungry, eat; if you’re thirsty, drink; if you’re tired, go to sleep! " Contrary to common belief that desires stand in the way of Zen practice, desires are part of the path to enlightenment. The red Brecciated Jasper resembles our desires, while the Yin & Yang Sandalwood represents Zen. Zen and desires are interconnected. The problem is not about having desires, but ignoring what desires tell about ourselves. By attending to desires with mindfulness, we dive deeper into who we are and retrieve internal peacefulness.
The limited edition print was created by painter Julia Waller, a German Artist inspired by Baozi Jewellery to express the emotion and character of the bracelet.
